Now follows a short summary of some of the equipment one might consider to aid one in their quests.
Fast Weapons – offer the greatest attack rate – devastating against opponents with little or no armour.
Some examples of fast weapons are:
Punch
Knife |
Triangular bladed dagger designed to exploit weaknesses in armour.
Spear in the style issued to frontline troops in the Legions during the time of Imperial rule. Water essence was traditionally added during the forging of the spearhead. |
Normal Weapons – offer a balance between damage and speed. The most amaging choice if you wish to use a Shield as well. Some examples of normal weapons are:
Axe of the Garulian
Legions |
This axe was given to the General in charge of the Garulian Legions by the God Emperors to signify their absolute command of the armies. A priceless relic, it is also a fine weapon worthy of any warrior’s arsenal. |
Gaulian Centurions's
Sword |
The sword of some long dead Garulian Centurion. Despite its age, it remains an excellent weapon, and there are many collectors who would pay a tidy sum to own one in this condition. |
Heavy Weapons (2-handed) – give the slowest attack rate, but the highest damage. Use these to cut through heavily armoured foes. Some examples of heavy weapons are:
Spiked Club |
Spiked club in the Sura tradition. Although only the poorest Sura mercenaries would wield such a weapon, the outcast Sura use whatever comes their way, keeping many of these weapons in circulation. |
Imperial Glaive |
The pole arm upon which the Corwenth glaive was based. Although many of these weapons are more than three hundred years old, they are of excellent quality and still serviceable. One of the best polearms made for military service. |
Ranged (2-handed) – equivalent to Normal weapons for speed, but require both hands, and fire arrows to hit targets at a distance. An example of a Ranged weapon is:
Sura Firebow |
Sura bonebow, carved from demonbone and imbued with essence of Fire. An extremely rare weapon. |
Armour and Weight
Armour comes in piecemeal form; a full set of armour comprises a helmet, body armour or breastplate, arm protection for each arm, and armoured leggings. There are two basic types:
Light Armour – basic protection, slight loss of Attack Speed
A Light Armour example:
Brigandine Jerkin |
Brigandine jerkin, a type of armour used extensively by bandits because of its efficient use of resources and technical simplicity. |
Heavy Armour – greater protection, but slows Attack Speed more
A Heavy Armour example:
Chainmail Shirt |
Fine quality chainmail shirt, probably manufactured in Garulia at least 250 years ago for a noble family. Lightweight yet sturdy, few armourers today have the skills to construct chainmail of this quality. |
Shields.
Shields also affect attack rate. Shields come in three sizes, small, medium and large – and the larger the shield, the slower your attack rate will become, but the higher your Block chances will be. You cannot use a Shield if you are using a Heavy Weapon, Heavy Focus or a Ranged weapon.

Imperial Sura Buckler |
Buckler created from a whole boar skull which has been set in iron. Only one was ever forged, as a gift to the Sura clans from God Empress Koreth I during the time of the Garulian Empire, before the Theocrat’s
tyranny

Other Equipment.
You may also have equipped at any time a necklace or amulet, a cloak, boots, and up to two rings. These items provide no advantages in themselves, but contain Attunements that can be unlocked to enhance your performance. Also, if you choose to use no shield (for example, because you have Attunements that only work with no shield equipped), you can put a lantern in your shield hand to provide additional illumination.
Some examples of other equipment are:
Amethyst |
Purple transparent crystalline gemstone, with reasonable value on the open market. Signet stone of House Arriviste. |
Demonskin Boots |
Boots made from leather tanned from the hide of a Mercurial demon, noted for their flexibility and durability. |
Eye Ring |
The eye design on these rings is symbolic of the world serpent, and attuned to Earth essence. |
Taymurian Healing Totem |
Imbued with healing power by Taymurian shamans, this totem has a powerful ability to cure wounds in the field, but as with any such charm its powers are limited. |
